The Floyd Mayweather vs. John Gotti III event was a ruckus. The scuffle that took place in the ring has been a topic of discussion for the past couple of weeks. Both fighters have since not interacted with each other. Recently, Gotti spoke on the brawl that took place in the ‘MMA Hour’ hosted by popular journalist Ariel Helwani.
In the recent interview, John Gotti III gave his insight on the controversy. From the attack to the Twitter aftermath involving his family, Gotti failed to shy away from answering all the questions. “It got diffused. We’re good. My father has been in touch with their [Floyd Mayweather’s team] team and there’s no bad blood here. It’s business. We did what we had to do and squash it and move on,” said John Gotti III when asked about the current state of the rivalry.
However, John Gotti III disavowed the public reception he received following the incident. When asked about it on the show, he said, “Listen, it is what it is. The Gottis are public enemy no.1 I guess, forever. They’re gonna do everything they can to throw dirt on me. And, the thing that upset me was the way these articles were describing the fight. That wasn’t the case. They painted me like this sore loser who just attacked Floyd out of anger,” said John Gotti III.

In the aftermath of Floyd Mayweather vs. John Gotti III, the latter received a suspension. On the ‘MMA Hour’ with Ariel Helwani, he talked about it. However, when the host questioned him on Floyd’s alleged suspension, he said, “No, I don’t believe so.” When asked about the moral aspect of it, Gotti said, “We’re working on something now to lift that suspension. I honestly don’t know what the commission’s role in all this was.“
“They were there for a photo op, to be honest. They couldn’t even secure the ring before the fight,” said John Gotti III. During the negotiations with Floyd Mayweather and the commission, he revealed the insights. “It was complete chaos. There was no security. That could’ve gotten really bad. I’m just glad nobody got hurt,” said John Gotti. The fighter revealed that the commission did not levy a fine on the fighter, although a suspension was issued.
John Gotti III also revealed a potential rematch against Floyd Mayweather. The fighter is willing to negotiate and ‘understands’ Floyd’s point of view as a businessman. Although Mayweather had not spoken about the rematch, Gotti seemed interested.
