KSI and Joe Fournier fought in an exhibition bout that lasted less than two rounds on 13 May. KSI won the bout after his elbow strike sent Fournier unconscious. However, fans and analysts wanted the bout turned into a no-decision after an illegal elbow strike led to the knockout. Professional Boxing Association in England reviewed the fight after Fournier appealed the decision.
The association released the decision regarding the bout. PBA wrote, “Mr. Morris came to an independent decision. Even though KSI was winning the fight [and] the blow with the forearm/elbow has been found to be accidental, and [in spite of] the obvious disappointment that will follow, it has been decided that the contest is declared a No Decision in accordance with the rules.” The ruling is right since elbow strikes are not allowed in boxing, but the strike appeared accidental.
KSI immediately went on Twitter to rejoice about his undefeated status. He tweeted, “Still undefeated. Feels good, man”. There were rumors that the ruling could be a disqualification. In the case of a disqualification, the bout would be overturned to a victory for Fournier. However, the British YouTuber kept his undefeated record after the No-decision ruling.
Fournier has a 10-0 undefeated professional record in boxing. The loss did not impact his professional career, as the bout was an exhibition. Exhibition bouts do not affect the professional record. Fournier appealed the decision after the referee failed to review the footage at the Misfits Boxing event. Fortunately, for all the parties involved, it worked out well.
Jake Paul criticized KSI vs. Joe Fournier bout

Jake Paul and KSI are two of the prominent YouTubers who transitioned to boxing. They also have a huge fan following and brought new fans into the sport of boxing. However, Jake Paul took the controversial KSI vs. Fournier as an opportunity to blast the British YouTuber.
Jake Paul wrote, “I respect boxing too much to respect what that was. If that was indeed a real boxing match it will be ruled a no contest or disqualification.” KSI vs. Paul is the biggest boxing match featuring influencers. However, Paul has refused to fight the British YouTuber for unknown reasons.
Paul will fight against Nate Diaz in Texas. It will be Diaz’s first professional boxing bout. Paul will look to bounce back from a brutal decision loss to Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia. On the other hand, KSI will either rematch Fournier or compete against Tommy Fury.
