Boxer Roberto Duran’s condition has improved a little, according to an updated statement from a close family friend. Duran, a former four-time world champion, was hospitalized with complications from an atrioventricular blockade. The atrioventricular blockade is an issue relating to the heart and causes a heart rhythm abnormality. Duran was known as “Hands of Steel” during his prime because of his strong and heavy punches
The news of the condition is alarming especially since he is 72 years old and the fact that the aforementioned condition can be fatal. However, now millions of fans will be relieved to hear the update about the boxing legend’s health. As such, a close acquaintance, Juan Carlos Tapia, revealed that she spoke with Duran’s wife, Felicidad ‘Fula’ Iglesias. Furthermore, Tapia revealed that Roberto Duran‘s wife mentioned that he is doing better and is calm and stable.

Tapia revealed that Duran is finally calm and stable after being rushed to the hospital a few days ago. Subsequently, Tapia mentioned that Duran will be receiving a pacemaker, which will regulate his heart rhythm abnormality.
Additionally, Tapia stated that while Duran’s condition has become stable, he still had to cancel his plans to travel. Hence, after sharing the update about Duran’s current health condition, Tapia urged people to pray for his speedy recovery.
Canelo Alvarez sends a message to Roberto Duran
Canelo Alvarez, one of the world’s best boxers, has sent his prayers to legendary boxer Duran after his recent health issue. As one of the greatest boxers of all time, Duran is considered by many to be one of the best of all time.
Hence, Alvarez, who grew up admiring Duran inside the ring, sent a video message to Duran. In the video, Alvarez displayed his positivity, prayers, and a hug for Duran’s speedy recovery. In addition, Canelo Alvarez mentioned that he knows Duran can overcome this, just like in the other battles that he has fought.
