YouTuber turned combat sports athlete Logan Paul has finally responded to the criticism for his PRIME energy drink. Paul and his former rival KSI founded the hydration beverage in 2022. It became an instant success due to its unique marketing strategy. United States Senator Chuck Schumer scrutinized the brand sometime back. He questioned the high caffeine content of the beverage.
Paul recently appeared on Fox News to give his thoughts on the criticism. He explained while showing a chart with other energy drinks and their caffeine contents. Paul said, “Prime Energy has 200mg of Caffeine, and that’s nothing revolutionary or out of the ordinary. It’s the same amount as Gatorade Fast Twitch. It’s the same amount as Celsius and even less, 100mg less than Bang Energy. What we’re doing is comparable to every other competitor in the market”.
He also talked about the caffeine content in the beverage affecting people. Paul also spoke about how they have done an excellent job in differentiating their product. “The Maverick” spoke about the massive level of scrutiny they faced from the retail section. He gave a solution in relation to the alcohol laws in America. Paul said, “Alcohol is deemed unsafe for young adults under the age of 21. So retailers ID them at the point of purchase. Then why aren’t we doing the same for caffeine”.
The PRIME energy drink is still a favorite despite the controversies. There is a clear market for an energy drink that is tasty and effective. Logan Paul and KSI have clearly identified that market used their fame to promote it. It will be interesting to see how the energy drink holds up over time.
