Mike Tyson, is one of the most fearsome boxers in the history of boxing. With a deadly combination of aggression, power, speed and intelligence, Tyson racked up 50 wins in his 58 fights. His performance inside the ring translated to huge financial success and fame outside the ring. Despite all the gains from his boxing career, Tyson does not recommend a career in prizefighting for his kids.
During his appearance on ‘The Joe Rogan Experience‘ Tyson revealed why his son could never become a boxer. He also narrated why he was left in splits, after hearing his son’s desire to become a boxer. According to Iron Mike, he does not want to put the pressure on his son that comes with being a boxer. “You have to dominate everybody, you have to be the best that’s ever lived. To put that kind of pressure, that’s incredible, would never do that to my kids though,” explained Iron Mike. He also added boxing is for people who have nothing as it requires a lot of dedication and pain.
Joe Rogan affirmed Mike’s statement and added that a fighter coming from a cosy background won’t last in the sport. Tyson’s kid Miguel has been seen practising drills with the 56-year-old boxer. However, he also explained why Miguel does not have the mentality to survive in the sport. ” You stupid, you go to a private college, you travel on European trips and vacations. You gonna be a fighter, get out of here,” said Tyson to Joe Rogan while both burst with laughter.
Mike Tyson lived in a very dangerous neighborhood and was arrested around 50 times before the age of 13. He spent most of his childhood in a juvenile center and boxed his way out of poverty to become one of the best.
