Legendary boxing icon Mike Tyson had a turbulent few years. His career had the mark of aggression and a tumultuous struggle with substance abuse. The former undisputed heavyweight world champion served years in prison, due to s*xual assault. The incident in question was in 1992, with beauty pageant contestant Desiree Washington being the victim.
But this was not the only singular case. Another alleged and anonymous victim also sued him, for the same. This was at a popular Albany nightclub in 1990, in a limousine meet-up.
Though a revered figure in boxing, Mike Tyson divulged adding a year to his prison sentence due to aggression. There were also rumors that he had gotten a prison school teacher pregnant, during his imprisonment.
Tyson was arrested in July 1991. Washington accused him of abuse in his room at the Canterbury Hotel, in Indianapolis. On the charges of assault, “Iron Mike” has always maintained his innocence. In an interview, on the motivations of the charges, He said:
Because she's a sick, money-hungry...she's really a bad person. Now, I know you may not want to hear this when we talk on the case; I am f***ed up! You know, I got issues. Because of dealing with for 3 and half years. I got some issues! Anybody else, having fun like that - it was just young boys having fun. But me? I'm a big black rap**t. I have been a lot of things. But I am gonna be left with the stigma for being a f*****g rap**t. It's just a lying reptilian monstrous lady.
The new case came in light of the New York’s Adult Survivors Act. The lawsuit in upstate New York was under the state’s recent act, which gives victims of sexual assault a one-year window to file lawsuits that occurred years or even decades ago. The latest civil lawsuit mentions that the boxer lured the victim away from a nightclub, into his car. Wherein, additionally, he supposedly proceeded with groping the victim.

Former boxing champion Mike Tyson admitted he was unaware of a fundraiser for Israeli soldiers at a dinner he attended earlier this week. Pictures of the boxing champion circulated on social media and in media reports about the Friends of the IDF (FIDF) “Evening of Solidarity,” which raised nearly $10 million. This was in lieu of the global Israel-Palestinian conflict.
The boxer drew criticism for his presence. Especially as Israel’s military action against Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip, where almost 12,000 people, most of them children and women, have died since Oct. 7. In a recent Instagram story, Tyson denied his involvement. He wrote:
When I was invited for a casual night out by a friend, I was unaware of any fundraising being organized and no donations were being made by me or in my name.
Funds to build temporary field hospitals, intensive care units, and other equipment for the IDF are currently being raised. The incident was at the IDF Miami fundraiser.
