Former champion Mike Tyson reacted to Francis Ngannou’s superman punch against Tyson Fury. The boxing legend revealed that they trained for the punching method during the camp.

Tyson Fury fought Francis Ngannou in a boxing match at the Battle of the Baddest in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The highly anticipated crossover bout was an interesting matchup since it was Francis Ngannou’s professional boxing debut. Furthermore, Ngannou’s destructive knockout punch was enough to make him a worthy contender against the WBC heavyweight champion. Many including Mike Tyson, Conor McGregor, and Cristiano Ronaldo attended the boxing bout in the ringside.
Fury has boxed his entire life and has a lot more experience, skills, and boxing IQ than Ngannou. Hence, the common narrative for the fight was that Fury would easily outbox Ngannou and win. However, the match did not go as expected, and Ngannou proved himself a force to be reckoned with. Subsequently, in the 10th round, Ngannou executed a Superman punch on Fury, which excited the audience. Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has trained Ngannou for the bout. Furthermore, the Superman punch is a technique in which an athlete feints a low kick by moving the back leg forward. The boxer then snaps the back leg and throws a cross at the opponent, increasing the punch’s force. Subsequently, a Superman punch is legal in boxing if it follows the rules and hits above the belt.
In addition, during the 10th round, Tyson instantly recognized the Superman punch thrown by Ngannou. Subsequently, he began to explain it to the person sitting beside him and mentioned that it was a punch normally thrown in the UFC.

The clash between the WBC heavyweight champion and the former UFC heavyweight champion was a sight to behold. The fight lasted the allotted ten rounds, though many people assumed that it would not. Hence, Fury was not able to secure an easy victory against Ngannou, who was the massive underdog in this bout.

Even though Ngannou lost the match via split decision, he has been crowned the people’s champion. In addition, Ngannou proved himself in his first professional debut as one of the greatest undefeated heavyweight boxers.
