Former World heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is arguably one of the most renowned fighters on the planet. The 56-year-old during his prime was considered a force to be reckoned with as he steamrolled through the heavyweight decision. While Tyson did have one of the most successful and illustrious boxing careers, he also had a turbulent life.
‘Iron Mike’ had a very tough childhood growing up in a dangerous neighborhood. Mike Tyson was sent to the juvenile correction center quite a few times before he turned 13. Tyson would always get into fights, robberies and more before he started boxing. However, Tyson also revealed that he was molested at 7 years of age. Tyson was snatched off the street by an unknown person and s****lly abused. After that Iron Mike did not ever see that person again and he also did not register the incident to the police.
That event had a huge impact on Tyson’s life. There on afterwards, Mike made sure that he was never bullied or picked on again. The event made Tyson grow stronger and become a tough person to avoid being snatched by random weirdos ever again.
Tyson has been very open about his past life and problems with the general media and pushes through adversity every time. Tyson also faced several personal issues in his adulthood that haunted him for quite a long time. However, he eventually overcame those issues and rebuilt himself from the ground.
Mike Tyson open to training Francis Ngannou for his boxing debut
Francis Ngannou is set to make his boxing debut against Tyson Fury on October 28th. The Predator during his time in MMA was known for desecrating opponents with his punches. With a highly skilled opponent ahead of him, Ngannou has reached out to someone who was also known for his devastating knock-out power. During an interview, Francis Ngannou made it clear that he will be reaching out to Mike Tyson for his next fight.
“I think getting some advice or some training from Mike Tyson would be good,” said Francis Ngannou. With the Predator fighting one of the best heavyweights on the planet even Iron Mike was intrigued in helping Ngannou. Mike Tyson believes Ngannou has a solid punch and can easily turn the tides of the bout. This is why Tyson was also happy with the idea of training the Cameroonian.
“I would like to do that, yeah. That would be cool. I like that, I think anything is possible. He has a hard punch,” said Mike Tyson in an interview. Along with Tyson, Francis Ngannou is also thinking of reaching out to Lennox Lewis. The Predator believes Lewis has a simple style that would help him immensely with his preparations.
