Legendary Mike Tyson has sent a public challenge to John Fury for a fight. However, Tyson did not use this challenge for himself but rather for his old sparring partner and close friend, Joe Egan. Furthermore, Egan is notoriously known as the ‘Toughest White Man on the Planet,’ a title Tyson gave.

In addition, Fury has chased after a fight with ‘Iron Mike’ since his 2020 exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. This further escalated during the Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou fight, and John wanted to fight in the same card against Tyson. However, the fight never came to fruition, and it has instead brewed a potential fight between Egan and Fury. Furthermore, Tyson said:

If I am able to see that fight, I hope it’s not in England because I’m a felon, I can’t go to England. But he’s coming for you, John Fury, for my honor.

Tyson stated that John Fury’s intent to fight Tyson has made Egan very unhappy. Hence, Egan wanted to fight Fury instead. Subsequently, Tyson also mentioned that Fury called Academy Award winner Russell Crowe a fraud, which further escalated the matter for Egan.

Hence, Tyson sent a warning to Fury, claiming that Egan would come after him to defend Tyson’s honor. In addition, Tyson stated that he hoped the fight could take place anywhere else but in England, since both fighters are natives of the country and Tyson can’t travel there because he is a convicted felon.

John Fury responds to Joe Egan’s challenge

Egan had already called out Fury before Tyson issued his warning to Fury. Furthermore, in the video, Egan stated that he hasn’t fought inside the ring in the last 20 years. However, Egan claimed he still had one more fight inside him and would like to fight Fury.

Subsequently, Egan stated that they could fight in Saudi Arabia and show the influential boxers how it was done. In addition, Egan suggested that he was an excellent opponent since he had fought Lennox Lewis and Tyson. Egan believed he was a suitable opponent for Fury compared to Tyson. However, John Fury didn’t believe so.

Fury responded to Egan’s callout by stating that he didn’t want to talk about those people. Hence, this indicated that Fury was not interested in this fight and would rather have preferred to fight Tyson. However, Fury has not responded to Mike Tyson issuing the challenge to him about challenging Egan.
