Mike Tyson’s JetBlue airline harasser has history of being charged with multiple shocking crimes
Mike Tyson
Boxing Legend Mike Tyson might’ve been on an unwanted end of receiving the world’s reaction for assault over a flight attendant that was earlier harassing him. However, it’s obvious to understand that you don’t want to provoke a current or a former professional fighter into a violent altercation. Seems like the person who messed with Tyson was not just any ordinary American citizen, if anything, he is definitely a menace as per his criminal history.
Tyson was attending a JetBlue airline when the incident of a 36-year old Melvin Townsend III annoying him from the back seat took place followed by which Tyson landed vicious punches with non-life-threatening injuries that landed to blood pouring out of Townsend’s forehead. The flight was slated to take off from San Francisco International Airport to Florida. Tyson alleged that it was throwing off the water bottle over him by Townsend that led him to lose control.
Mike Tyson’s harasser served almost 2 years in one of 2 stints in jail time
In a recent report from the New York Post, Townsend was then convicted of fraud, grand theft, burglary, possession of controlled substances and trafficking in stolen property. In 2018, Townsend had a run-in with the cops when he broke into someone’s property and stole their trailer, hitching it to the back of his pickup truck. In a separate incident, Townsend was found to be in possession of oxycodone. Townsend served two stints in prison: Once for 20 months and another for 15 months. [h/t NY-Post]
Fast forward to the current situation of agitating Tyson, according to TMZ Sports, Townsend’s attorney Matt Morgan believes that as being one of the ‘greatest fighters of all time’, Tyson should’ve exercised greater constraint. Townsend has also denied throwing a water bottle through his attorney.
What do you make of the entire situation? Do you think Tyson’s rage was justified? Should this agitation be counted in Townsend’s record for some uncivil code? What do you think about Tyson’s interest in exhibition boxing, just like the one he did against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020? Do you think he will return to that again, if yes, who he should return against?
