Japanese Naoya Inoue recently took on Marlon Tapales for the undisputed super-bantamweight world title. Inoue defeated Stephen Fulton in his last fight. The ‘Monster’ acquired the WBC and WBO super-bantamweight titles after a spectacular eight-round stoppage against Fulton. Now, Inoue defeated Tapales and made history by becoming a two-weight undisputed champion.
Before moving to the super-bantamweight division, Inoue reigned as the undisputed bantamweight division champion. Furthermore, Inoue was the first undisputed bantamweight champion to rise in boxing in the last 50 years. After this, Naoya Inoue vacated his titles and moved to the super-bantamweight division to fight Fulton. Subsequently, after defeating Tapales via a tenth-round KO, Inoue has become the new undisputed super-bantamweight champion.

In the fight, Inoue was on the offensive from the first round, causing Tapales to remain defensive. In addition, after landing significant punches, Inoue managed to drop Tapales at the end of the fourth round. However, Tapales beat the count and was deemed fit to continue the fight. Inoue continued his assault from the beginning of the fifth round, but Tapales held his ground.
Furthermore, the fight continued until the 10th round and ended when Inoue caught Tapales with a right hand. Tapales could not continue after the knockdown, and Inoue won the fight. In the post-fight interview, Inoue complimented Tapales for his resilience and said he was surprised when his opponent went down in the 10th round. With the win, he remains one of the best pound-for-pound boxers on the planet.

Inoue defeated Tapales via TKO in the tenth round at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo. Furthermore, Inoue became the second male boxer to hold the title of a two-division undisputed championship after Terence Crawford. In addition, only Inoue, Crawford, Katie Taylor, and Claressa Shields have become undisputed champions in two divisions.

Crawford and Inoue are considered to be the top pound-for-pound boxers currently. Inoue has also won in the light-flyweight and super-flyweight weight classes and has won world titles in four separate weight classes.
