Naoya Inoue delivered a savage pounding to Nonito Donaire in their much-anticipated rematch, knocking him out in the second round. Inoue improves his pound-for-pound record to 23-0 (20 KOs) and adds the WBC bantamweight title to his WBA and IBF titles.
Early in round two, Donaire was hit by a few punches from Inoue, and his legs were unsteady. He tried to fight fire with fire, but he couldn’t seem to find the shot he needed to turn the tide, or at the very least slow it down.

Of course, Donaire had time to recover in the corner, but it wasn’t enough, and Inoue, 29, was ready to strike, correctly anticipating that Donaire wouldn’t be ready for round two right away.

Inoue will take home a larger guaranteed reward of $350K because he is unbeaten and has more titles. Donaire, for his part, will receive $125,000 as the fight’s guaranteed purse.
In terms of PPV money, the two fighters will split it 60 percent to 40 percent, with Inoue obtaining the larger part. The rights to broadcast the game on television are held by Sky Sports. If PPV sales hit the planned level, Inoue’s total reward will exceed $500,000. Donaire will earn $250,000.
The rematch between Nonito Donaire and Naoya Inoue is scheduled for 5:00 PM IST at the Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. Both men are riding high going into this title unification fight, as neither has lost since their first meeting.
Given the pair’s knockout rates, the sequel is expected to end with a bang. Inoue has an amazing 22-0 record, with 19 knockouts for an 86 per cent knockout percentage. Donaire, on the other hand, has more matches under his belt, with a 42-6 record and 28 KOs for a 58.33 per cent knockout percentage.
