Oscar De la Hoya is one of the most celebrated boxers in history. He has won titles from Junior Lightweight to Middleweight. He currently runs his own promotions company ‘The Golden Boy Promotions’. Some big names in boxing were signed to his promotion like Canelo Alvarez before getting in a dispute with him.
Oscar De la Hoya has had disputes with many in his career one of them being Dana White. Recently he told TMZ, “I want to fix things up with Dana I criticized the UFC a bit, and I was wrong for it. I would love to patch things up with Dana.” Dana White has several times called Oscar a ‘clown’. Whether we will see Dana and Oscar on good terms remains to be seen.
Oscar De La Hoya believes Jake Paul will become a champion in the future
Youtuber turned boxer Jake Paul has impressed many people including boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya. Oscar thinks Jake can reach the boxing pinnacle. In an interview given to TMZ, “He’s the real deal. I’m going to tell you that. With only four or five fights and the way he’s taking it serious, Jake Paul is the real deal. And I dare anyone who has boxing, who has MMA experience to call him out because I can tell you one thing this guy can beat a lot of good champions, even maybe great champions.“
He added, “Jake Paul’s onto something because he’s taking it seriously. This is not a one-off, a two-off, a three-off, no. He wants to become a world champion and there’s no way out of becoming a world champion, you have to fight the very best and he’s doing it right. I just have to say, that Jake Paul is doing the right thing.” This is a very big claim made by Oscar but the future will tell whether Jake can wear the boxing crown or not.
