The highly anticipated bout between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury did not disappoint and lived up to the hype. Ngannou’s devastating knockout record in the UFC was sufficient to establish him as a worthy contender to fight Fury. The fight went the full ten rounds, despite many anticipating it would not. As a result, Fury, who was heavily favored to win, was unable to secure a difficult victory over Ngannou.

However, Ngannou was also able to dominate the entire match and kept pushing and hurting Fury. Francis Ngannou got the first knockdown of the fight in the third round, which sent the crowd into a frenzy and set the tone for the rest of the match. In addition, regardless of his stellar performance, Fury was able to secure a controversial split-decision victory. Subsequently, boxing legend Roberto Duran reacted to the results ringside by stating that Ngannou was robbed.

An interviewer approached Duran and asked him what he scored in the fight after the 10-round clash. Furthermore, Duran responded by stating that he thinks Ngannou scored higher and is the victor of the match. Hence, Duran was impressed by Ngannou’s performance and believes that he was robbed of his victory.

Regardless of the outcome, Ngannou showed his skills in his professional debut against one of the best unbeaten heavyweight boxers. Despite losing the fight by a split decision, Ngannou has been named the people’s champion because of his performance.

Although Fury had the upper hand in the early stages of the fight, it wasn’t until the third round that we saw a truly defining moment. Subsequently, Fury received a vicious left hand that dropped him to the canvas and made the crowd go into a frenzy.

Hence, Ngannou scored a knockdown and was good all night, but unfortunately, he didn’t make it into the judges’ scorecard. The controversial ruling has sent shock waves throughout the combat sports industry, leading to an outpouring of criticism from fans and professionals. Hence, people firmly believe that “The Predator” has been unjustly deprived of a victory because of the corruption in boxing. Furthermore, in a post-fight interview, Ngannou stated that he had anticipated this outcome.

In an interview, Ngannou acknowledged that he had to score a knockout to secure the victory. Hence, he was aware that a decision by a judge would not necessarily be in his favor.
