Rolly Romero is now aiming at Ryan Garcia after capturing the WBA super lightweight title last weekend. Romero went toe to toe against Ismael Barroso at The Cosmopolitan, Nevada for the vacant title and finally was declared the winner. 

Right after his win via TKO, Romero didn’t back out from calling out hoth Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia. In the post fight interview, Romero mentioned that the rematch with Tank is a good fight however, a bout with Ryan Garcia would be even better.

He said: “There’s only two fights I want. There’s either the rematch with Tank but I think there’s a much bigger option. I want to go after Ryan Garcia.”

Even during the post fight press conferences, Romero mentioned that he has the belt and Ryan Garcia can come get it. According to the 28 year old, him vs Garcia will be the biggest event as fight fans have been waiting for a long time now for this matchup.

Ryan Garcia wasn’t impressed by Rolly Romero’s controversial win

Rolly Romero’s win over Ismael Barroso attracted a lot of controversy after the fight was stopped by referee Tony Weeks prematurely in the ninth round. During the ending sequence, Rolly tried to connect some shots which clearly missed Barroso but it was enough to force Weeks to intervene and stop it.

Like many fight fans, Ryan Garcia also agreed that the stoppage was early and labeled the fight as ‘Dirty’. He wrote in twitter: “Wow, that was early, way too bad.” 

Fans called out Rolly for winning the fight despite losing the rounds on points and for calling out Ryan on top of that. However, the fighter seems to have concerns about it and has accepted his win. Nevertheless,both Rolly and Garcia are huge names in boxing and they’re potential fight will definitely attract a lot of fans.
