The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens 17-10 in the NFL’s Conference Championships to secure their fourth trip to the Super Bowl in five years. Playing on the road for the first time this season, the defending champs showed why they are the best team in the NFL with wins over the Bills and Ravens. Fans around the world, including Ryan Garcia, were glued to the game. As the Chiefs head to the Super Bowl, they’re looking to continue their dynasty and win their third NFL championship in five years.
Hence, they might become the first team to be repeat champions since the 2003 and 2004 New England Patriots. The Chiefs will now wait for the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers to square off in Las Vegas on February 11 for Super Bowl 58. Subsequently, after the game, Ryan Garcia expressed his excitement on social media by stating:
Let’s go chiefs!!!!! Patrick & Kelce. You know I got love for y’all way to keep winning!!!! LETS GO! SUPERBOWL BOUND.Ryan Garcia via X
It was interesting to note that as the game between the Chiefs and Ravens was drawing to a close, Garcia couldn’t help but compliment them. Subsequently, this isn’t the first time that Garcia has opened up about his love for the sport of football.
In April 2023, Garcia asked former NFL star Brandon Marshall to bet on him over his opponent, Gervonta Davis. Subsequently, Garcia expressed his love for the sport by claiming that he would be a football player even if he wasn’t a boxer.
Oscar De La Hoya speaks about Ryan Garcia’s next opponent
KingRy’s month has been anything but ordinary. At the beginning of the month, he was in negotiations with former WBC super-lightweight champion Devin Haney. Haney and Garcia had a rivalry dating back to their amateur days, and a fight seemed like the logical next step. Subsequently, Garcia dropped that fight and began pursuing a shot at WBA super lightweight champion Rolando Romero.
According to reports, ‘Rolly’ has recently signed a contract to take on Isaac Cruz on March 30th. This left Garcia without an opponent, even though he had already announced plans to take on Romero. However, Garcia’s promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, recently appeared optimistic about Garcia’s next fight.
In an interview with FightHubTV, De La Hoya confirmed that Garcia will be making his return on April 20. Furthermore, De La Hoya claimed that he would be announcing something big. Subsequently, De La Hoya hinted that Garcia might move up to 147 pounds.
