Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz stuck to his word to meet and “terminate” Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero. Rolly had snapped and went on a relentless rant against Ryan Garcia, Oscar De La Hoya, and Golden Boy Promotions. Romero wanted to prove ‘Pitbull’ was more of a challenge than Garcia. He aimed to defeat Cruz and retain his WBA super lightweight title.

However, the 140-pound titleholder fell short of his aspirations. Consequently, the ones who became happier than even Cruz were Ryan Garcia and the team. Promoter De La Hoya and Bernard Hopkins trolled the boxer for losing out to the alluded ‘Chihuahua Cruz‘. Naturally, Garcia didn’t stay put.

Remember when Rollies thought he pulled a fast one on me by choosing to fight pitbull the last second and then proceeded to get knocked out by a 125 pounder...Main to the co to the KO...In all seriousness rolly needs to do influencer boxing and I’m not kidding I think Deen beats him.

Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) alluded to Romero opting out of their fight after the latter went on an unforgiving social media tirade. When ‘KingRy’ made a switched from Devin Haney to Romero abruptly, promoter De La Hoya publicly feuded over this with Garcia. De La Hoya even tried enticing him with the curveball of pushing Romero vs. Ohara Davies. Garcia soon got back into the fold and finalized the fight against Haney.

But, he now takes a free jab at Rolly Romero. Garcia’s comment to take up influencer boxing after the skid remains the worst insult to tell a boxing world champion. The fight went on 56 seconds into Round 8 on the Tim Tszyu vs. Sebastian Fundora card in Las Vegas. After losing, Romero has yet to respond to any such subsequent disses.

Isaac Cruz sizzles in eighth-round victory over Rolly Romero: The Play-by-play and Fallout

The WBA 140-pound maverick Rolly Romero went to war with Isaac Cruz. But Romero was just out of luck for this one; while he connected a plethora of good shots, the opponent landed even better. More so, he was wobbled in the very first putting the momentum in favor of Cruz.

Cruz thus almost took him down with a left hook to the temple, but Rolly Romero managed to survive. He recovered and complied with body shots and good connects. But by Rounds 3 to 4, the pressure piled up, and his exhaustion was all too visible. He had many shots against the underdog, but Cruz remained unfazed.

By that point, the champion was just answering back with jabs or ducking to avoid getting caught again. Moments later, Cruz yet again wobbled him in the 7th Round. Well into Round 8, he unloaded a flurry of definitive strikes that rocked and numbed out the Rolly. Referee Thomas Taylor put a stoppage to the action soon.

‘Pitbull’ rejoiced in winning the world title and taking it out of the judge’s hand. Romero, however, was too out of even after the fight. His under-stance battle and being knocked down early have hilariously riled up many fight fans. While on a losing affair, some have even alluded to him as entertaining as the ‘Nate Diaz‘ of boxing. It remains to be seen if Rolly will make a successful comeback and win a world title again.
