The fight announcement between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson has caused the boxing world to go into a frenzy. Many people, like Francis Ngannou, initially did not believe that the fight was real and thought it was for a movie instead. However, to everyone’s surprise, 27-year-old Paul will be taking on the 57-year-old boxing legend. There is a lot of speculation about this unexpected fight, and boxing star Ryan Garcia recently shared his thoughts on it.
As such, Garcia went live on X’s Spaces, where he spoke to several people and asked them about their predictions for the fight. As such, one of Paul’s fans stated that he could potentially defeat Mike Tyson via a split-decision victory. Furthermore, the fan mentioned that Paul could not knock out Tyson, and Garcia interjected by dismissing Paul’s chance of winning. In addition, Garcia stated:
The only way Jake Paul wins this fight is if they have it already coordinated for him to win. And has that happened in the sport before? Yeah, it has.Ryan Garcia via X’s Spaces
Garcia stated that he knows Tyson, can vouch that he is still a monster, and believes he can knock out Paul. ‘King Ry’ predicted that Tyson could defeat Paul in four rounds or finish him in one round with a solid punch.
Hence, Garcia believes that Tyson’s age or stamina won’t be a hindrance to him in his fight against ‘The Problem Child’. Garcia also spoke about how he started Paul’s boxing career and discussed how the latter has made a mockery out of the sport.
57-year-old Mike Tyson’s physical condition
Tyson has remained active and trains frequently, but he has been sometimes spotted with a walking cane in public. This was due to a sciatica flare-up, which also caused him to use a wheel chair in the past.
Hence, this has caused fans to worry about Tyson’s physical fitness and condition ahead of the fight. Moreover, while Paul and Tyson have a 30-year age gap, many fans still believe that the youngest-ever heavyweight champ still has the edge. In a recent photo shoot for the fight, Tyson appeared on top of his game.
Even though Tyson is going to reach his 60s, he still has his impressive boxing technique and IQ. This can be seen from the fluidity of his punches and movements while punching. In addition, Tyson can still execute his infamous explosive punches, but his stamina has diminished with his age.
