Mike Tyson and Jake Paul have made a lot of noise after announcing their boxing fight in July. Many in the combat sports community did not like the idea of a fight between Tyson and Paul due to their age gap. The fight announcement certainly got the attention of the sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live.

SNL star Michael Che hilariously trolled the age gap between Tyson and Fury. They also dragged Netflix into the skit as well. This is what was said about the fight in the show.

Netflix announced that in July, it will livestream a fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul. But the real fight will be Mike Tyson trying to pronounce 'Next-flix.'

The fight announcement came out of nowhere, but there were talks about it in the past. However, nobody expected it to happen. UFC CEO Dana White, a close friend of Tyson, did not consider it a good idea as there existed a 31-year age difference. Similar was the case for Conor McGregor.

Netflix will have the sole streaming rights to the fight, and it is not a PPV. Tyson’s last appearance inside the ring was a PPV headliner against Roy Jones Jr. Incidentally, Jake Paul fought in the co-main event of that PPV. The backlash towards the fight will continue, and more mainstream shows like Saturday Night Live will give their take on the fight.

Dana White on Netflix live streaming Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul

Dana White was jovial at the post-fight press conference of UFC 299. After all, the PPV broke several records, making White give out $300K in bonuses. At the presser, a reporter asked about Netflix’s decision to livestream the fight between Tyson and Paul. White did not like the idea of Tyson, who is almost 60, fighting the much younger Paul.

However, White remarked that Netflix should’ve livestreamed sporting events much earlier. Moreover, he also subtly hinted that the UFC would likely talk to Netflix as a partner in the future. White did not explicitly state it but said they would talk to every available platform when their current deal expires.

The UFC’s current deal with ESPN will expire in 2025. They signed the deal in 2018 for $1.5 billion and will most likely make double or triple the amount in a potential new deal with ESPN or any other. Amazon Prime had already entered the MMA market with a deal with One Championship. As such, there is a chance that Netflix will do the same if an opportunity arises.
