The GWOAT Claressa Shields has again fired at Keith Thruman and proclaimed that she can defeat him inside the ring.

Claressa Shields is still looking for a showdown with Keith Thurman, but the ‘GWOAT’ is focused on getting back in the PFL ring. Shields, who is currently 28 years old, last fought in the ring in June of last year. Subsequently, she beat Marcela Cornejo by a unanimous decision, improving her professional record to 14-0. As such, throughout her long and storied career, Shields has rarely been tested. While she has faced tough opponents in the form of Savannah Marshall, Christina Hammer, and many others, few have ever been able to contain the champion. Hence, because of this, Shields has often called for a boxing match against a male boxer.

Furthermore, Shields has specifically called out former WBC Welterweight Champion, Thurman on multiple occasions. Thurman and Claressa Shields had a verbal agreement to fight in an exhibition fight last year, but the fight never happened. Recently, Shields shared her thoughts on Thurman and stated, 

Thurman is not that great of a boxer. Is he strong? Yes. But what else? Tim Tszyu’s going to knock Thurman’s a** out. I’m a woman, but I’m bigger than Thurman.

In addition, Thruman is scheduled to face Tim Tsyuka on March 30 on Pay-Per-View on Amazon. Hence, Shields believes that his opponent, Tsyuka, will be able to knock him out, and even she can do the same. Furthermore, she supported her bold proclamation by stating that she was bigger than Thruman.

It’s also important to note that Shields also posted videos of her training with other fighters ahead of a possible fight against Thurman. Hence, Shields has been going out of her way to prove and show that she can defeat Thruman inside the ring.

Fans react to Claressa Shields’s claims

Shields is mostly known for being a self-proclaimed GWOAT of boxing, and her achievements support that. However, Shields wants to prove herself even more by stepping inside the ring and fighting a male boxer.

This wish arose because no female boxer has been able to give her a tough time. As such, Shields has wished to fight against the former champion Thruman, and this has received a lot of attention. After her recent callout, fans reacted by stating, “Delusion is real.”

Fans stated that Sheilds is delusional for constantly wanting to fight Thruman and for believing that she can win. Furthermore, fans brought up Shields’ controversial sparring video in which she got knocked out by a male boxer.
