The heavyweight boxing match between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury will take place in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. They are calling the highly anticipated crossover bout between the two “Battle of The Baddest.” Tyson Fury, the reigning heavyweight WBC champion, made an appearance on ESPN’s First Take with Stephen A. Smith.
Fury discussed his upcoming bout against Ngannou in Saudi Arabia. During the interview, Smith asked, “Why is the best in the world fighting a former UFC fighter?” Fury promptly responded, “The battle of the Baddest mother******* on the planet.” Smith and co-host Molly Qerim went quiet for a few seconds because the F-Bomb caught them off guard. Subsequently, there was a brief period of silence before Smith continued the conversation in an attempt to ignore the oversight.
Luckily for ESPN, Fury refrained from dropping any more F-Bombs for the remainder of the live television interview. While discussing the fight, Fury acknowledged that Ngannou was a mighty individual who possessed a destructive punching power. Fury reflected on Ngannou’s fight against Alistair Overeem at UFC 218 and how Ngannou ended it with an incredible KO.
However, Fury expressed confidence about not losing against Ngannou and even promised to make a meme out of the MMA champion. Fury also commented that he would target to fight Jon Jones next because the heavyweight division in boxing remains stagnant.
Tyson Fury responds to criticism over Fury vs. Ngannou
After the crossover fight was announced, Fury’s opponent highly disappointed many boxing fans and experts. Most people assumed that Fury would next face off against either Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk, or Andy Ruiz.
Fury did not choose his opponent from the heavyweight division of boxing, some he had yet to fight. Subsequently, this led to some backlash, which gave rise to the narrative that Fury avoided Usyk. Fury has responded, “See these motherf***ing balls? Lick them b*tch”. Furthermore, he stated that he has made the most lucrative deal in boxing, which he cannot reveal currently.
Fury called himself the king of boxing who ran the sport. He would not get intimidated by the concerns of the haters. Furthermore, though he remains confident about winning, he will still put in the training to become the best version possible. He deeply respects Ngannou and will not take him lightly.
