Terence Crawford wants to fight Canelo Alvarez, and the buzz has grown since expressing interest. Subsequently, Alvarez responded with an acknowledgment of Crawford’s size and the possible scenario where he would not get the credit if he beat up Crawford. However, Alvarez did not rule out a fight after his bout against Jermell Charlo.

While talking about Terence Crawford, Alvarez mentioned that he was a great fighter but had a win over only one worthy opponent. Alvarez said, “If you see his record, see his resume. He’s beat one good fighter, Errol Spence. Other than that, I don’t think he’s beaten other great fighters like Spence.” Crawford responded to this by saying, “Here we go with the I haven’t fought nobody but Spence talk. Lol y’all so delusional it’s crazy“. Alvarez has had a long and successful career for the last 18 years. Alvarez stands with 63 professional bouts. Similarly, Crawford has competed for the last 15 years with 40 professional fights with no losses.

Crawford has not faced big names like Floyd Mayweather or Gennady Golovkin the way Canelo has. However, in Craawford’s career, he has dabbled against several worthy opponents and proved himself and his superior technical skills. Furthermore, Alvarez did mention that he respected Crawford as a fighter and did not underestimate him.

However, Alvarez feels beating Crawford won’t give him credit because people would say he was the smaller fighter. Furthermore, if they can adjust to the difference in weight by meeting in the catchweight division, the fight may happen.

Crawford’s coach has announced that Spence has initiated the rematch clause against Crawford for a redemption bout between them. On July 9 this year, they engaged in the greatest boxing beatdown witnessed in recent years.

Spence’s team initiated the clause this week and confirmed the fight, although they have not set an official date yet. Crawford ended the fight in the 9th round, which led to Crawford becoming the undisputed welterweight champion with a TKO victory. Before the TKO, Crawford could overwhelm Spence with his southpaw style and genius boxing skills.

Across the match, Crawford could knockdown Spence once in the third round and twice in the seventh round. Spence will focus on making adjustments for the rematch and avenging the only loss of his career.
