Undefeated champion Terence Crawford came on the recent episode of The Breakfast Club. He broke down the number one thing that sets him apart from the rest of the fighters on the card. Bud had a hilarious interaction with host Charlamagne tha God during the interview.
Bud also hilariously took over radio veteran Charlamagne the God’s throne. A member of the podcast told Crawford, “If you want him to move, you gotta make him move.” However, Charlamagne said, “He (Bud) is where he belongs,” clearing that he had no intention of attempting to remove Bud from his seat. Charlamagne knew not to mess with the wrong man during the interview.
Bud believed that boxing requires a lot of thinking and he is a deep thinker. He also gave his opinion about Errol Spence’s retirement rumors stating he doesn’t think Errol should retire. Similarly, Crawford believed that no matter what advantage his opponent had, he will overcome them no matter what. So far in his career, Bud has defeated everyone on his path.
Crawford believed that he could identify and exploit weaknesses in his opponent with the right mindset. Furthermore, Crawford said he had a great time practicing with Shakur Stevenson. He compared practicing with Shakur to playing a high-octane game of chess.
Terence Crawford talks about Floyd Mayweather
The new pound-for-pound king Terence Crawford may be the greatest fighter of this generation. His dominant performance over Spence Jr. proved his status as the number-one boxer in the world. Crawford has looked up to Floyd Mayweather for inspiration.
In an interview with Boardroom, Crawford was asked about a possible match against Mayweather. Crawford, however, maintained a respectful tone but asserted that he was confident that he would be able to Mayweather or any of the previous champions. When asked about his thoughts on Mayweather, he stated that he is more of a promoter now rather than a fighter. Crawford noted that Mayweather broke the bank with his boxing career. He doesn’t see him giving a chance to young fighters in the near future.
This is because, as a promoter, when you are part of the game, you cannot afford to give it to others. Fighters personally know how promoters earn money from them, and when given a chance, they do the same. A prime match-up between Crawford and Mayweather would have been one of the greatest bouts in boxing history.
