There is a possibility that on June 15th, boxing fans will be treated to an incredible fight card. There are reports of a potential fight card that will feature two of the most feared boxers. In the main event, WBC lightweight champion Gervonta Davis will take on Frank Martin. The fight is a PBC Pay-Per-View extravaganza live event that will be streamed on Prime Video.

However, the action doesn’t end there because David Benavidez vs. Oleksandr Gvozdyk may happen on the same card. After being unable to secure a fight against Canelo Alvarez, Benavidez decided to move up a weight class. As such, this will be the Mexican Monster’s debut in the light-heavyweight division. Subsequently, Benavidez’s father, Jose Benavidez Sr., spoke about the upcoming fight with Boxing Scene and stated:

It will be a great card. It’s an honor for us to fight on the same card. Gervonta is happy, as well, with us fighting on the same night. I think that’s just going to bring more viewers.

Hence, Benavidez’s father confirmed this news and stated that all parties involved with the event had agreed to it. Furthermore, they believe it will make the fight card bigger and bring more attention to the event. Subsequently, it can be presumed that the main event will be Davis’ fight and not Benavidez.

In addition, Benavidez Sr. stated that everything is set, and the announcement of the venue and location will be released soon. This event is the third known Prime Video PVR fight card, with the other two being Tim Tszyu vs. Sebastian Fundora on March 30 and Canelo Alvarez vs. Jaime Munguia on May 4.

Gervonta Davis confirms fight in June

As the WBA champion, Davis will stake his belt in the bout, scheduled for June 15. In his last fight, he defeated Ryan Garcia in April 2023, which was the biggest PPV event of the year. Hence, while Davis is set to return to the ring after more than a year, his venue and opponent have not been finalized yet.

There have been several reports that suggest that Davis will next fight Martin. Both fighters have also engaged in a war of tweets on social media. However, Davis and Martin have not yet signed a contract for the June fight.

Gervonta Davis did confirm that he is fighting in June though. Moreover, Davis also posted a photo on Instagram of him knocking down Garcia with the same ‘June’ caption. This was either a warning to Martin about his power or a hint at a potential rematch against Garcia.
