Anthony Joshua has become the talk of the town after his recent stellar performance against Otto Wallin. Furthermore, Joshua aims to become a three-time champion after holding the title twice previously. He will face Francis Ngannou in March.

Both fighters appeared in several interviews to promote the fight, and Joshua recently appeared on The MMA Hour. The topic of discussion delved into the GOAT status in boxing. Joshua talked about the GOATs of the sport being remembered forever. This is what Joshua stated:

Not everyone can be a Muhammad Ali; not everyone can be a Mike Tyson. And unless you are those, the sport doesn’t love you back. You’re here today, and you’re gone tomorrow. It’s like the flavor of the month.

AJ’s comment reveals the brutal nature of the sport. No matter how good one performs, only legends like Mike Tyson or Muhammad Ali will forever remain in the people’s minds. Others come, dominate, and get replaced by new fighters. Joshua spoke about his career, and the host remarked how Joshua had returned to form after his career had dipped. However, Joshua did not believe that the sport of boxing or the fans love it now.

Joshua held the heavyweight titles twice in his career. His Excellency Turki Alalshik wanted the winner of Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk to face the winner of Joshua and Ngannou’s bout. If Joshua beats Ngannou, he could get the chance to become a three-time world champion.

Anthony Joshua reminds people of his achivements

In the wake of his recent defeats, Joshua’s status as one of the world’s best heavyweight champions was somewhat tarnished. But recently, Joshua reminded critics of his accomplishments throughout his boxing career. Furthermore, Joshua is set to fight Ngannou, and after his performance against Fury, people are worried for Joshua

However, Joshua did not believe in this and stated that people underestimate him as a boxer. Joshua also remarked that he was a power puncher, just like Ngannou. Subsequently, Joshua went across his impressive resume, where he destroyed boxers like Robert Helenius, Otto Wallin, and Dillian Whyte

For context, in 2015, Joshua beat Whyte by 7th-round KO in the UK’s vacant heavyweight championship. It was Whyte’s first loss on the professional circuit. Similarly, Joshua also scored dominant victories over Helenius and Wallin. Hence, no one can deny the achievements of Joshua as a heavyweight in the modern era.
