Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury’s trilogy fights are considered the greatest heavyweight fights to occur in the last decade. Both fighters had reached the pinnacle of the heavyweight division in their careers and had an impressive professional boxing record. Furthermore, Deontay Wilder made his professional debut in 2008 and is known for his destructive punching power and devastating KOs.
Subsequently, Wilder has a record of 42 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw, and his two losses and one draw were against Fury. Similarly, Fury is known for his boxing skills, fighting IQ, reach advantage, and ability to maneuver inside the ring. In addition, Fury made his professional debut in 2008 and has a record of 33 wins and 1 draw. Fury and Wilder’s rivalry ended after their third fight in 2021, and Fury had consecutively won twice. Fury is still relishing his victory over the Bronze Bomber two years later by posting a picture of their fight with the caption, “#ONTHISDAY, I spanked this skinny legged, spaghetti-hoop – BUM.” (H/T-Instagram).
Their first fight ended with a draw, which made fans eagerly await the second bout, which was more interesting. Subsequently, Fury won the bout via a seventh-round TKO, which led to the highly anticipated third fight.
Furthermore, their third bout was the most intense and closest fight of their trilogy. Wilder was able to knock down Fury twice, but the Gypsy King made a comeback via an 11th-round KO.
Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury interact after their trilogy fight
Fury and Wilder made their first public appearance together since their trilogy bout in Saudi Arabia earlier this year. They were in attendance at the Jake Paul v. Tommy Fury main event that took place on the same night.
Subsequently, Wilder and Fury embraced and chatted for a bit, and it looked like they had ended their rivalry. While their matches would likely have sold well, the rivalry between them was very intense, which is likely what sparked the fans’ interest in their trilogy. Their interaction was surprising since they had a lot of beef amongst them, and Wilder had accused Fury of being a cheater. However, in a recent interview with ES News, Wilder clarified that their rivalry has not ended.
The “Bronze Bomber” stated that he still immensely despises Fury and considers him a cheater. However, Wilder believes that there is a time and place for everything and, hence, behaved cordially with Fury when they crossed paths in Saudi Arabia.
