“Quitting while I’m ahead”- Tyson Fury doubles down on retirement
Tyson Fury doubles down on retirement
Tyson Fury is not going to change his mind about retiring from the beautiful sport of boxing.
The heavyweight champion of the world once again reiterated his retirement and confirmed that there is nothing that can be done to bring the Gypsy King back to the boxing ring. Recently Tyson Fury took on Dillian Whyte to defend his WBC belt in front of a record-breaking 94,000 fans at the Wembley Stadium in London. The boxer finished the bout via a highlight-reel upper-cut knockout win to put an end to the show.
Following his win, Fury said he was closing the curtain on his beautiful career and the world will never see the Gypsy King again inside the octagon. Recently he appeared on the Piers Morgan Uncensored show where he doubled down on his retirement. No amount of convincing from the TV host could change the mind of Fury.
“This is the truth, the gospel truth, nothing but the truth: I’m done. Every good dog has its day and like the great Roman leader said, ‘there will always be someone else to fight,'” said Fury on the Piers Morgan show.
Tyson Fury says he wants to retire when he is on the top
“When is enough? I’m happy, I’m healthy, I’ve still got my brains,” said Tyson as he spoke to Piers Morgan. “I can still talk, I’ve got a beautiful wife, I’ve got six kids, I’ve got umpteen belts, I’ve got plenty of money, success, fame, glory. What more am I doing it for?”
Tyson believes that one cannot go undefeated all his life. The fighter believes he will end on the top as he still remains undefeated. “Boxing’s a very dangerous sport, you can be taken out with one punch as we saw on Saturday night. It only takes one unlucky blow and you might not get up off the canvas.”
