“That’s sailed”- Tyson Fury offers insight into a heavyweight fight against Anthony Joshua

WBC and The Ring heavyweight champion Tyson Fury might be interested in a lot of opponents if he beats Dillian Whyte, but seems like Anthony Joshua doesn’t come on that list. Fury is fighting this weekend to face Whyte in a WBC title unification fight at Wembley Stadium, England. Fury originally wanted to fight current WBO, WBA, IBF and IBO boxing heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, but Usyk has a rematch against Joshua.

Fury is considered to be one of the greatest heavyweight champions of all time, and what’s put in this statement are wins over the likes of Deontay Wilder [twice], Wladimir Klitschko, Derek Chisora, Otto Wallin, Sefer Seferi, Vinny Maddalone and many more. In the undercard of the fight card headlined by Fury and his opponent Whyte, Fury’s brother Tommy Fury will elevate his competition as he will face undefeated Polish prospect Daniel Bocianski.

Tyson Fury believes he gave Anthony Joshua countless chances to make the fight happen

In an interview with talkSPORT Boxing, Fury talks about his upcoming fight against Whyte, his future as a boxer and much more. Fury also talks about the possibility of somewhat having an all British clash between him and Anthony Joshua. Fury had a shocking response.

“They [Joshua’s team] had the chances, that sailed,” says Fury “They’ve had so many chances to grow up here [in England] and step in the ring and do battle with the Gypsy King [Fury’s nickname] and they didn’t do it for whatever reasons. Whether it was going for the money, belts, or pride, they had their chances and now it’s flown away. I am sorry, but this is it,” he concludes.

What do you make of Fury’s complete dismissal of fighting Joshua? Do you think Fury is right by his side? Who do you think should Fury fight next if he wins against Whyte but doesn’t want to fight Joshua? Do you think Joshua will get it done this time against Oleksandr Usyk in the rematch? In case both Joshua and Fury win their respective matches, both might have to fight each other inevitably one day then.
