Tyson Fury is all set to come out of his retirement and fight Oleksandr Usyk in a title unification bout. The mega-fight between Fury and Usyk has been on the table for a long time but things have always delayed it. The hopes for this showdown were crushed when Fury announced his retirement earlier this year in April.

However, recently when Usyk beat Anthony Joshua in Jeddah and successfully defended his title, the Ukrainian immediately called out Fury. The ‘Gypsy King’ responded and in no time the fight was made. The exact dates and venues of the fight are yet to be revealed but most probably it will take place next year.

Tyson Fury finally opened up about why he let go of his Ring Magazine belt despite knowing that he will not retire.

Fury recently revealed that he deliberately relinquished his Ring titles so that Usyk and Joshua could compete for it. The boxer explained his plan of beating Usyk again and gaining the Ring titles for the third time.

“By the way, I gave that belt up, so that they could fight for it,” Fury told SecondsOut in an interview. “Do you know why? Because I’m gonna become a three-time heavyweight Ring Magazine champion of the world. That’s how confident I am of battering Oleksandr Usyk.”

While talking about his greatness as the heavyweight champion in this modern era, Tyson

claimed that he is the only undefeated boxer so he clearly reserves that place. He said :

“There was a three-headed dog before. There was me, Wilder, Joshua. Wilder has been slain, Joshua has been slain. One-headed dog, that’s me.”

If Fury wins the Ring Magazine title again by beating Usyk, he will share the record of winning the title three times along with Muhammad Ali. Fury has already made his name as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time and it won’t be surprising if he breaks the records of Ali. However, Ali was much more than just a boxer, his greatness is extremely hard to beat.
