After his retirement, Floyd Mayweather continues to make headlines because of his immense wealth. Subsequently, after spending $1.1 million on a suite for Super Bowl LVIII, Mayweather is now talking about partnering with Gucci. The luxury brand is valued at $18 billion, and a collaboration with TMT would be a lucrative opportunity. Furthermore, Mayweather, who is known for his flamboyant lifestyle, is a big fan of the brand.
Even in 2019, several celebrities, including director Spike Lee and rapper T.I., publicly distanced themselves from the brand. This was after the Balaclava sweater scandal, but Floyd Mayweather continued to buy Gucci products. Today, after shopping for a few Gucci items in New York City, Mayweather took some time to contemplate a possible deal with the luxury label. Furthermore, Mayweather revealed this on his Instagram, stating,

Mayweather took to Instagram to share some pictures from his latest trip to the Gucci store. The boxer was wearing a maroon hoodie and was carrying three huge maroon Gucci bags. Furthermore, he was also carrying the weight of a smart maroon Gucci backpack. Even though Mayweather removed comments on this post, it gained 97k+ likes on Instagram.
In the meantime, we can only hope that Mayweather will keep his followers updated on the progress of the John Gotti III rematch.
Floyd Mayweather visits the Gucci store in Africa
Mayweather’s tour to Africa caught the attention of the mainstream as usual. His trip was partially because of political reasons, and Mayweather met Scott Sakupwanya, who is running in the general elections. During Mayweather’s tour, his love for his favorite luxury brand, Gucci, was noticed yet again.
Subsequently, during his time in Sandton City, Mayweather took some time off from his tour to visit the Gucci Store. In addition, Mayweather uploaded a video of this and was seen with a lot of security personnel with assault rifles. While Mayweather spent a lot of money during his trip, he did receive a million dollars just to visit the country.
This was given to Mayweather by Sakupwanya, who wanted Mayweather to endorse him ahead of the election. As such, this resulted in a lot of backlash since the region faces a lot of poverty-related issues. Hence, people believe that the funds should have been allocated in the right place.
