Gervonta Davis and Devin Haney are two of boxing’s biggest names currently, and both remain undefeated. Furthermore, while they’re not as close as they used to be, they’ve trained and sparred together on several occasions. One of those times was the infamous sparring session between Davis and Haney, which is still discussed today. There were many talks about who had the advantage during the sparring, and a leaked clip finally confirms the conclusion.

The clip surfaced as Devin Haney, also known as “The Dream,” prepared to take on Regis Prograis. Furthermore, the fight is set to take place on December 9 at Chase Center in San Francisco. Subsequently, the leaked clips show the heavily debated and loud sparring session between Tank and The Dream. In the short clip, Davis can be seen landing clean shots on Haney and staying aggressive.

However, it is worth noting that Haney does not back down at any point during the clip and continues boxing. Furthermore, former boxer Adrien Broner has also spoken about the sparring session and stated that Haney was only 17 at the time. Subsequently, Broner stated that Davis had already started his career at this point, but Haney still managed to overwhelm Davis.

This led to rumors about Haney dominating and almost defeating Davis during a sparring session spreading across social media. Davis has himself addressed these rumors and once stated that Haney cannot even knock out someone with eight glozes. Hence, Davis was right since Haney’s professional record only has a 50% KO rate, which has been ridiculed by his opponent, Prograis.

Gervonta Davis reacts to Devin Haney vacating his titles

Currently, ‘The Dream’ is scheduled to make his return to the ring at the end of next month. It will be his first fight at super lightweight, where he will be looking to become the two-weight champion of the division.

Furthermore, Haney recently declared that he will be vacating his lightweight titles because the lightweight division has nothing for him. Subsequently, Haney stated that he had hoped to unify his titles with Davis’ WBA lightweight title, but the pair were unable to agree on a deal. In addition, even though the title will be vacant, Davis has expressed no interest in acquiring it.

Hence, Davis reacted to the news of him potentially being upgraded to the WBA super lightweight champion. However, Davis responded to the news by expressing his disinterest in those titles and likely won’t be pursuing them.
