Boxers Oleksandr Usyk and Evander Holyfield were recently honored at the 61st Annual WBC Convention. At the convention, Usyk declared in no uncertain terms that Tyson Fury‘s WBC belt was to be his. Fury recently won an exhibition boxing bout at Riyadh season, against former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou. Although Ngannou outperformed Fury with his strikes and athleticism, the end veered towards Fury via decision.

Following the matchup Fury has revealed reeling from injuries. Usyk later mentioned that he expects the matchup to be postponed to somewhere in early 2024. As such, a video has surfaced from the convention. Usyk was flaunting the WBC belt that he aspires to win from Fury. The video has him caressing and placing the belt. A little later, the boxer was audibly saying:

WBC belt is mine.

Meanwhile, The ‘Gypsy King’ retained his WBC title after a stunning victory over Deontay Wilder in their blockbuster trilogy.

Fans react to Oleksandr Usyk bringing out the desired WBC belt

Boxer Oleksandr Usyk is hoping that his undisputed heavyweight title of the world bout against Tyson Fury can take place in Saudi Arabia in February. That is, as soon as the Briton has recovered from a grueling 10-round fight with newcomer Francis Ngannou. Ngannou made his pro-boxing debut against the lineal boxing champion at Riyadh, this October.

In the latest WBC Convention, at Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Usyk chose to revert to mind games. He came out with the WBC belt that he so wished to conquer. The video, and the subsequent tactic, have garnered many fan reactions.

The contracts for the bout were signed back in September. The match was to take place in late December, but Fury could not keep to his word. With newbie Ngannou performing above par the levels of expectations, Fury needed time to heal. Usyk, however, remains determined to unify the heavyweight division and carve out his well-written legacy.
