Undisputed Middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez will soon be putting his titles against the line against Jermell Charlo. While the Mexican fighter has a serious opponent ahead of him, he has decided to participate in a golf tournament. He played alongside Patrick Mahomes and also managed to scare the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback with his shadowboxing.
Apart from being one of the best boxers and arguably the face of boxing, Canelo Alvarez is also proficient in golf. The Mexican fighter annually partakes in celebrity golf tournaments and has played alongside some big names. He has managed to impress basketball icon Stephen Curry, quarterback Aaron Rodgers and more. With his latest appearance at the 2023 Celebrity Golf tournament, Alvarez has managed to impress a few more high-level athletes.
‘Saul’ was paired alongside Kansas City Chiefs players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. Alvarez managed to impress both fighters with his swing and accuracy but also made Mahomes take a step back. The Mexican fighter looked all fired up walking down the fairway for the first round of the tournament. Alvarez was heavily cheered as he started warming up with some shadowboxing. Patrick Mahomes also decided to join Canelo with his warmup and got involved with shadowboxing.
While the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback made it look like he was squaring up on Canelo, he hilariously took a step back. The Mexican uploaded the clip of the amusing interaction with a laughing face emoji. While Alvarez participates in golf tournaments, his opponent Jermell Charlo is training hard to defeat the Mexican fighter. Charlo’s trainer Derrick James also has a game plan that will help the 33-year-old fighter to snatch the win from Canelo.

Canelo Alvarez in danger as Jermell Charlo’s trainer reveals his strategy to defeat the Mexican fighter
Undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez recently announced that he will be fighting undisputed light middleweight champion Jermell Charlo. After signing a multi-fight deal with PBC, Alvarez was supposed to fight middleweight champion Jermall Charlo. However, due to Jermall not being able to prepare for the fight, he insisted his twin take care of the Mexican fighter.
Jermell Charlo is the undisputed champion at 154 lbs. This means he will have to climb two weight classes to contest against Alvarez. While many believe Alvarez has the upper hand due to his experience around the weight class, Charlo’s trainer thinks otherwise. Derrick James during his interview with DAZN has explained how his strategy will help Jermell win his fight despite the weight difference.
“I don’t believe in getting that heavy, I’ll say 63 or 64. I want him to be fast, I want him to be athletic, I want him to be mobile. The heavier you are it’s like you’ll be lethargic, slower. You have to be faster,” said James. With James focusing on speed he had brought in Ryan Garcia for a sparring session with Charlo. The fight takes place on September 30 and will be available for pay-per-view on DAZN.
