The rivalry between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney has contributed to the significant build-up of the fight. As such, both sides have been indulging in trash talk on social media and at press conferences. Furthermore, Haney recently accused Garcia of using cocaine ahead of their highly anticipated fight. In addition, during their first pre-fight press conference, Haney claimed that Garcia was drunk.

This led boxing fans to worry about Garcia’s highly anticipated fight against the undefeated champion. However, in a recent press conference, Ryan Garcia denied using cocaine and even offered to take a drug test live to prove his claim. However, Garcia did admit to using alcohol and marijuana openly while speaking. Furthermore, Garcia stated

I want to clarify some things. I don't do cocaine. I would do a live drug test. I drink, and I smoke weed, and so does the majority of this room.

Haney fired back at Garcia for openly stating this and claimed that Garcia was setting a bad example for the youth watching them. However, someone from the audience pointed out that nobody is perfect, and Garcia agreed. Subsequently, Garcia stated that someone is finally standing up and being real about themselves and what they do.

In addition, Garcia again announced that he smokes and drinks and can openly claim this because everyone has flaws. Garcia also believes that his bad habits will not affect anything.

Eddie Hearn expressed his concern for Ryan Garcia

Haney vs. Garcia is set to take place on April 20 and will be the first time Haney defends his WBC super lightweight title. Furthermore, Garcia’s recent rants have caused some fans to worry that the fight may be in jeopardy. Subsequently, Garcia held a live interview on X in which he acknowledged being high on marijuana.

After that, Garcia again admitted to drinking and smoking ahead of the fight during their recent press conference. Haney’s promoter and Matchroom Boxing chairman, Eddie Hearn, recently weighed in on Garcia’s antics. As such, Hearn said he’s worried about the talented fighter and suggested his antics could be indicative of a bigger problem.

In addition, Hearn mentioned that this is a clear change in Garcia’s behavior and mannerisms. The Brit also stated that he had never seen Garcia behave in this manner ahead of a fight. Hence, the promoter expressed his concern for Garcia and his preparation for the upcoming mega-fight against Haney.
