Atlas is one of the few people who have been highly encouraging Jake Paul for the latter’s boxing career to prosper and believes that the 24-year old Youtuber is reviving the sport of boxing in the ways that would give the sport a whole lot of attention. Paul has become a sensational figure to talk about in the world of combat sports ever since he knocked out a former UFC champion in Tyron Woodley earlier this Deccember.

In an interview with sports journalist Dave Schmulenson, Atlas talked about various things including Paul’s approach to the sport of boxing. “He called out Masvidal and Diaz. You know he’s bigger and he’s larger, you know, he has those advantages, he’s smart. A lot of people hate him, but the one thing I give him credit for, he didn’t disrespect the sport of boxing. He went and he learnt it you know,” said Atlas.

“Can he go and just beat anyone, of course not. But he learnt the sport, he went out there, got a professional trainer, went to the gym for a couple of years and worked his backside off to become the best he could become at this point, at this stage, so he respected the sport.”

“And he’s doing it the American way,” continued Atlas “To make money without hurting anyone I mean legally you know. If he hits and somebody’s hurt him that’s in the legal confines. [But] that’s the American way to go out there and find a way to make money and I give him credit for that and he took advantage of an audience, a large audience and he’s taken them with him and he’s become their ambassador,” concluded Atlas.
