Mike Tyson talks about Bruce Lee
Mike Tyson has the utmost respect for the late Bruce Lee but he does not believe the legendary martial artist could have beaten him in his prime. “Iron” Mike details what gives him the advantage over someone like Lee in a fight.
Mike Tyson is one of the greatest boxers to ever grace the ring and will forever be remembered as the most vicious boxer in the world. A fighter who was once called “The Baddest Man on the Planet” faced some defeats in his career, however, he does not believe that late actor, martial artist, Bruce Lee, could have beaten him in a fight.
Lee only lived to the very young age of 32 but his influence in the world of martial arts was unmatched. The combat fighter influenced many through his blockbuster action movies and even the legendary Tyson has great admiration for that. Bruce and Mike were, however, weight classes apart so a potential fight between them would turn out to be one-sided according to Tyson himself.

In an interview with Ariel Helwani in 2017, Mike explains why he would win against Lee. “If Bruce Lee could really beat me in a fight, I would really, um, think, ‘f**k this is an interesting world’. Because that should not happen,” said Mike in his interview with Ariel Helwani.
Despite Helwani trying to make a case for the legendary martial artist, Tyson believes, his size advantage over Lee would turn out to be a major factor. “Can I tell you something? That’s like, me and Floyd having a street fight. He is the same size as Floyd. He is 135 pounds,” said Tyson. “I’m not saying to be rude or selfish or egotistically, that’s the advantage of size.”
Mike has always been an admirer of Lee and has said multiple times that he had a desire to meet him. Tyson also admires the philosophy of life portrayed by Lee and has drawn inspiration from it.
