As fans will be aware, British heavyweight Derek Chisora will fight Otto Wallin next in February. The bout, ‘The Last Dance’, comes after a billing between Chisora and Jarrell Miller was cancelled as it fell to a legal dispute with promoter Dmitry Salita. Now, the heavyweight boxer has one more last dance in him with Francis Ngannou as the opponent.

Derek Chisora (35-13, 23 KOs) is confident he’ll blow past Otto Wallin in their 12-round dance. This will be Chisora’s 49th pro clash. His last win over a true top-tier heavyweight came six years ago. He defeated Carlos Takam by eighth-round knockout on 28 July 2018. After the looping rabbit shot over the Cameroonian, he now has French-Cameroonian Ngannou in mind.

I want to push [for] that [fight]…If I can get Francis Ngannou in Africa for our own African people to see us perform instead of us performing in European countries and in Saudi…It will give a taste to our young up-and-coming talent in Africa to see African warriors go at it

Chisora recently dapped it up with Francis Ngannou at Old Trafford. ‘The Predator’ wrestled Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana after winning on Thursday. Speaking to Talk Sport Drive, Chisora first said he’d like to fight old rival Dillian Whyte for a third time. This time, he wanted the fight to happen at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

There’s talks if he is too washed up right now. But if he hangs with Ngannou and sustains even a second, it’d be a big thing. The Cameroonian touts great power and athleticism but is just two fights old. So, he is at the optimal big challenge stage. It could be a pretty big if – Chisora and Ngannou rumbling under any set of rules. It would be a big event and we would all be tuning in. But will Ngannou oblige?

Is Francis Ngannou’s boxing dreams over?

Two professional fights in the ring, and one of them was a close call for ‘The Predator.’ One that saw him take on the king and give him a run for his money. Another saw the fledgling practitioner of the ‘Sweet Science’ being the fall guy. For now, that is the pro boxing CV of Francis Ngannou.

Ngannou went up against Tyson Fury and slid back with a close-call decision loss. However, what he did to Fury in his debut earned him the spotlight than one ever hoped. Next, he folded against Brit KO artist Anthony Joshua. 0-2, he does, however, get more and more offers from the likes of Deontay Wilder and ABA super-heavyweight and two-time WBC heavyweight title challenger Derek Chisora.

One of the biggest factors is his draw power in his favor. The ex-UFC heavyweight also became the hot new PFL signing in May 2023. Ngannou also won the Super Fight title (read fight highlights) at the PFL ‘Battle of the Giants’ pay-per-view. Additionally, with Helios Sports Entertainment, he’ll chair PFL Africa, conjunct with PFL MENA/Europe.

The biggest PFL advisory member and the hottest free agency management, he’s the “it” man. Francis Ngannou has kept the door open for boxing. The Team Xtreme Couture fighter might still pitch in to chop down some heavyweight boxers after this.

Ngannou vs. Deontay Wilder, a rematch with Fury, Dillian Whyte, and Chisora remain high-profile options. One would love to see any of these go down. So, no – Francis Ngannou’s boxer dreams are just getting started.
