In his two decades of unbeaten professional boxing, Floyd Mayweather has barely touched the boxing floor while dealing with some of the most dangerous boxers in history.
However, everything went crashing down when he fell to the ground during a charity basketball match. Mayweather became renowned for his fast feet, balance, and amazing punch evasion skills after winning all 50 of his professional boxing contests. Mayweather has the best defense in the history of boxing and is extremely clever in his positioning.
But in 2019, Larry Williams‘ spectacular feint defeated Mayweather at a charity basketball match in the United States. Williams, widely known as the “Bone Collecter,” dribbled towards Mayweather with intent owing to his reputation for “breaking ankles” on basketball courts.
‘Money’ decided to defend against Willams and a brutal crossover embarrassed one of the wealthiest athletes in history and left him on the ground. It was so brutal that Mayweather went straight to the ground and couldn’t help but laugh as he stayed there. The undefeated boxer took it as a champ and it looked like he definitely enjoyed that instead of getting embarrassed.
Floyd Mayweather’s intentions to buy an NBA team of his own
Other than being one of the greatest boxers of all time, Floyd Mayweather is a huge businessman and has single-handedly created a $1 billion brand for himself. Mayweather has several sources of income and betting on sports can be considered one of them.
However, the fighter has been planning to move past that, and buying an NBA team is one such bold move that Mayweather has thought about. As reported by David P. Greisman of BoxingScene.com, during an interview, Mayweather mentioned that he plans to buy a basketball team but isn’t sure how to do it.
He said: “You guys know I like to bet on sports, but I’m looking forward to stepping back from betting in sports right now…I’m looking forward to probably getting into ownership of an NBA team.. I don’t really know right now.”
It’s been years since Mayweather announced this but still, there haven’t been any updates about the NBA team from the legendary boxer. But knowing Mayweather, fans could be expecting him to build his own team with some great signings in the future.
