Instead of a ring, she offered him the Olympic pin she had been carrying. It was a moment that went extremely viral on the internet.

Alice Finot’s boyfriend, Spanish triathlete Bruno Martínez Bargiela, accepted the pin with tears, and the couple broke down into a hug. To make this moment more special, Finot had just broken the European record. She finished fourth, missing the bronze just by a few seconds. Paris Olympics: Gold Medals to Engagement Rings

Drama, Romance, Comedy – the Paris Olympics had it all. While all the athletes went all out training for their sport, some took the time to practice confidence in front of the mirror. The City of Love definitely had its charm if the athletes fell for it and left with more than a medal.

Rower Justin Best stacked up two wins in his stay at the Paris Olympics. One was Team USA‘s first gold in the discipline in 60 years. The other was his proposal to his girlfriend of nine years, Lainey Duncan. US shot putter Payton Otterdahl came straight out of a rom-com when he proposed to his girlfriend in front of the Eiffel Tower and dipped in for a kiss. Huang Yaqiong and Liu Yuchen went from teammates in the badminton doubles to winning gold and then winning each other simultaneously.

Speaking of cinematic proposals, Team Argentina’s handball and field hockey teams gathered for a group photo only for Pablo Simonet to drop down on one knee to ask Maria Campoy the question. On the other hand, Sarah Steyaert and Charlotte Picon had a rather interesting deal to make.

Their respective partners would have proposed to them if they won gold or silver. They won bronze, but their partners were ready with a ring for them. The Paris Olympics are still up and running. Who knows what or who the other athletes leave the city of Love with?
