The NASCAR Cup garage was at the Circuit of the Americas last Sunday for the third race of the 2025 Cup season. It was the first non-Superspeedway race of the year, and it didn’t disappoint, as it featured equal amount chaos alongside green flag racing. JGR’s Christopher Bell secured his second win of the season, marking himself as one of the best road course racers of the series.

But for RFK Racing owner driver Brad Keselowski, race winner Christopher Bell isn’t best road course racer of the series. According to him that honor goes to his teammate Chris Buescher. He made the declarations via X, responding to the post from the No:17 Ford driver about his P7 finish in the chaotic race on Sunday.

The Ford driver has been among the best road course racers in the Next-Gen era, with an average finish of P7 from the 16 races he has been part of and has secured one win in the time span. Though Chris Buescher has been consistent in road courses, the likes of Tyler Reddick and William Byron have been better, with more wins and top 5s, giving them an edge in the best racer discussion.

Chris Buescher shared his feelings about COTA race

Talking about his day at COTA, Buescher pointed out that there were a lot of up and downs on the day. He didn’t feel the No:17 wasn’t competitive enough on Sunday to win the event, but believes that with a few tweaks to the car, they can win future road course racers this season.

It was a really hard day; a lot of ups and downs. We never got ourselves into the track position that we wanted to. We want to be better… I just feel like we are not quite competitive enough to win here at COTA. We have been very close at all of the other road courses we feel like we have a chance to win at the others. We need to make a couple more tweaks to our Mustang here at this place.

The comments from Buescher shows RFK Racing needs to put in extra work on their car to ensure success in the coming races. In order for the best racer comment from Keselowski to be true, he has to make sure his driver consistently has the best cars.
