RFK Racing has a good idea on the issues Next-Gen cars have at Superspeedways, as their driver Ryan Preece was victim wild flips at Daytona in 2023 and 2025. NASCAR has been making multiple tweaks to car design to address this issue and no surprise none of these changes has yielded a positive result for the team.
Ryan Preece’s boss and RFK’s No:6 Ford Mustang driver Brad Keselowski has no addressed these concerns and made some revelations about NASCAR failed test at Michigan to sole the issue. His team represented Ford in the weekend. So the fans that came into Talladega race this weekend, expecting some assuring changes regrading safety of their drivers will go back home disappointed.
RFK [Racing] was part of the test at Michigan probably three or four weeks ago, where we explored different options to help the cars at track at very high speed and Michigan is very speed. The options, unfortunately, didn’t pan out that NASCAR had worked to develop, so it wasn’t a surprise that there weren’t any changes.
Brad Keselowski told Kelly Crandall of RACER.
Brad Keselowski addressed this earlier this week with the media when I asked. The veteran, who has won six Cup races at Talladega was pretty candid about the situation and didn’t hesitate to take a jibe at NASCAR, reminding them not everything is going to work out. So they sanctioning body is back on the drawing board, yet again, hoping to find the fix to end the problem for good.
I knew there was effort being put into it and, candidly, not everything you try is gonna work, but I appreciate that there was effort put into it and I think there’s very much a bacck to the drawing board mentality. I don’t feel like it’s not being worked on, but we’re not gonna skip the race just because we haven’t figured something out, so the show goes on.

Brad Keselowski has revealed how the Next-Gen car has changed drafting
One of the major factors that changed regarding the Superspeedway racing with the Next-Gen, other than clean racing, is drafting becoming more physical. In the past the cars up the front had the aero advantage in the draft in the past, now the cars behind have the control as their push makes the difference. Keselowski had some words of wisdom to share about it ahead of Dega.

This car has shown time over time… that really it’s about the front two lanes and how they are able to get off of Turn Four and the physical contact between the cars. And how that all plays out is really dictated by the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth-place cars, so I feel a little less in control.
Brad Keselowski said.
This factor has resulted in more wrecks and chaos, as if one driver in the draft makes a mistake or be over aggressive, it comes back to haunt them as well as some innocent racers who get caught at the wrong place in the wrong time. NASCAR has to find that perfect tweak, that will help them to make speedway racing great again.
