The NASCAR community has been missing races at the Auto Club, Fontana, since the track was demolished in 2023 as part of the re-development project. The track will be replaced by a short track and the land surrounding it will be developed into the commercial properties. According to reports, approximately $300,000,000 is being invested into the project.

Recently 2012 Cup champion Brad Keselowski urged the US Congress to support the effort, especially Norma Torres, the congressional representative for Fontana, which is in the 35th district in California, who he unfortunately called Anita, misremembering the name. His comments came after his visit to Washington alongside Toni Breidinger, Richard Petty, and Rajah Caruth.

So, we go there, you know, we meet with congress. Lot of members in different congressional districts. I met with the lady, I think her name was Anita, whose district is the Fontana Speedway, and she wanted to know when we were racing again in Fontana.

Brad Keselowski said via Backstretch Banter podcast.

Further talking about the topic, on his team RFK Racing’s podcast, he detailed how he explained to the congress representative the importance of developing racing venues at Fontana. He doesn’t want financial support from the governments, instead is asking for tax breaks for the completion of the project.

I told her, hopefully, really soon you can impact that. Because the Motorsports Caucus key initiative is to make it so that NASCAR can invest in racetracks – not just NASCAR but any sanctioning body – can invest in race tracks, and does not take money from the community, but also does not get taxed for their investment on their facilities.

Brad Keselowski continued.

He pointed out that business shouldn’t be burdened with taxes, when they are already investing over $100 million to develop the facilities that will benefit the public with returns in the future. Keselowski believes with a tax break; motorsports can make sufficient investments to thrive at Fontana.

Which is really important because if you’re going to put like $100M into a facility, which is candidly, more than that for some of these facilities is what they need to stay up with the times. Like, you don’t want to take that hit, plus the taxes on top of that. So, it allows them to make critical investments in infrastructure that allows motorsports to survive and thrive for… decades to come.

Brad Keselowski shared his thoughts in frustrating results in 2025

The RFK Racing owner driver has been having a tough 2025 season so far. He hasn’t had any solid runs that showed promise of the team getting back to winning ways. The veteran sees it as a frustrating streak and admitted that they haven’t been able to pull the pieces together yet.

We haven’t [had] a lot of results lately, and that’s been terribly frustrating, but there’s a lot of bright spots. We just haven’t found our potential. Our potential, I feel like, with the [No.] 6 team is higher than it’s been since I’ve been here at RFK. The cars are faster, I feel like we’ve found different chemistry, but we haven’t been able to put all the pieces together.

Brad Keselowski said on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

The comment from the ex-champion shows he is determined to get back to the championship conversation with his team and looking at very possibility to find the edge they require to get back. It will be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the veteran in the remaining races of the season.
