The NASCAR Cup garages is at North Wilkesboro Motor Speedway to fight for the $1 million All-Star race price money. It marks yet another race at the iconic track that was once left for it doom before a Dale Earnhardt Jr. lead revival effort got it back on the NASCAR schedule. While some fans are calling for another year of the exhibition race at the track, RFK Racing owner driver Brad Keselowski has a separate wish.

In his media appearance ahead of the big event, Brad Keselowski admitted that he wants the venue to host point paying races from the upcoming season. So, what will happen to the All-Star race, well the 2012 Cup champion wants a return to Charlotte. The venue only hosts one race a season, Keselowksi believes is deserves a spot there and it’s a miss if NASCAR continues to have just once race in the iconic track.

I think this needs to be a points racetrack. I’d like to see the All-Star Race most likely return to Charlotte. That’s my personal opinion. I think the Charlotte racetrack, particularly since it only has one race on the oval, I think that’s a miss for our sport.

Brad Keselowski said via Matt Weaver of the Sporting News.

Over the years, the track has witnessed some of the best races in the history of NASCAR and the fans have never disappointed the drivers. So, it’s more of a no-nonsense decision to give an additional race to the track and give a point paying race to NWB. But that required one venue to be axed from the schedule and Keselowksi didn’t have to think twice to ask for the removal of ROVAL or a similar track.

It’s a great racetrack and puts on some of the best racing, so it would make sense to me if we were to revert back to that and make this a season race, and probably get rid of a race like the ROVAL or something like that.

Brad Keselowski added.

Brad Keselowski gives his arguments for the removal of Roval

The No:6 Ford driver has a simple but logical reasoning behind his argument in favor of removing ROVAL from the schedule. The Oval tracks always bring in more fans and always get better TRP, compared to ROVAL or similar events. So, it makes a lot of sense to have the most entertaining track to get the most support and races from NASCAR.

I look at the stands and there are more fans that come to the oval race and better ratings too, than come to the ROVAL races. I thought that’s what we judge the sport by. I’m very strong about the Roval has got to go.

Brad Keselowski said.

Personally, ROVAL has always been a trough track for Brad Keselowksi, as he has a single top-10 finish, his career bets that came 2019, a P5. Rest of his finishes has been outside the top-15. On the other hand, he has always been a solid racer at the Oval. He has two wins and 10 top-10s from the 23 starts he has made there.

This shows a personal bias he has towards getting rid of ROVAL in favor of the oval track. Many veterans of the sport might support the comments from Keselowksi, as they do also have a similar streak there, it would be interesting to see how NASCAR would respond to these demands.
