France took on Italy at the Parc des Princes on Friday night as the men in white came out on top. Despite the 3-1 scoreline, Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola gave France a dream start in the clash. An early error by Jonathan Clauss put France 1-0 up within 13 seconds! With the goal, Barcola became the fastest scorer ever in Les Bleus’ history.

Barcola has been on an impressive run of form, scoring five times in his last four games. After a rather underwhelming performance at the Euros, the 22-year-old has made the most of the new season following the departure of main man Kylian Mbappe. He overshadowed the Real Madrid man against Italy as well, after the latter failed to score in his fourth straight game for France.

Barcola picked up the ball near the wing before charging towards Gianluigi Donnarumma. The youngster then placed his shot perfectly into the top-right corner, giving the PSG keeper no chance.

Mbappe’s only shot on target ended up being saved by his former club teammate. Didier Deschamps said that France were far from their best during the defeat.

Fans react to Bradley Barcola’s stunning opener against Italy

Kylian Mbappe leaving PSG has forced other players at the club to fill the Frenchman’s shoes. Looking back at recent results, it is safe to say that Bradley Barcola has been filling in perfectly for the 25-year-old. The statement remains true at both club and National level, as the youngster bagged an amazing goal against Italy. A fan heaped praise on Barcola, saying that he is worthy of being Mbappe’s successor at PSG.

Another added that he truly lived up to his hype and has started to make a name for himself as someone who can lead their attack. A few compared his form this season to that of Liverpool’s Luis Diaz. Fans of several clubs wanted to bring the player home, as PSG fans claimed that they saw it coming from miles away.

Barcelona fans remembered the player with a sour taste in their mouths. It isn’t difficult to recall how his performance in the second leg against the Blaugrana was the sole reason for their defeat. Barcola will most likely start the game against Belgium before returning to PSG.
