When Bradley Beal agreed to uproot his family from Washington, the motivation was to be able to fight for championships. Two seasons with the Phoenix Suns, and that goal still remain unfulfilled.
His former teammate, Kevin Durant, was the first to leave, as he wanted to continue fighting for a title elsewhere. The fit was always suspect between the Slim Reaper, Beal, and Devin Booker.
The Suns, too, realized that and decided to build their next squad around the latter. However, to move Beal, he had to waive his no-trade clause. When scouring for trade partners, the Suns’ demands scared many of them away.
Finally, they had no choice but to agree to a contract buyout. Once that was dealt with, Beal became a free man with a plethora of options to choose from. After a lot of deliberation, he decided to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers.
He is aware that he is joining a squad who are on the wrong side of the age bracket. However, that has not diminished his goals, as he reiterated to KMOV’s Tamar Sher.
I need a ring. I want one bad. I feel like I got a new life of rejuvenation for sure, new hunger, and excited about the opportunity. New city, new environment, but a hungry environment, too. I’m definitely excited about the opportunity to go win.

Bradley Beal believes he has the best opportunity to fight for a title with the Clippers. He feels their collective experience and veteran savvy will be more than enough to overcome the young teams competing against them.
Fans shake their heads at Bradley Beal’s claims
Basketball fans know the Los Angeles Clippers have been mentioned in the same breath as other championship contenders for some time. However, every time they have come short due to various reasons.
The casual fan might point to the injury problems they face. But to those who watch the game, they would say that the Clippers have a problem getting over the hump. Bradley Beal’s addition does not change that, as he will not be the first option.
Fans believe the Clippers choke at the worst possible time and will continue to do so unless their roster changes significantly. Check out examples of those reactions below:

Last season, in the first round, the Los Angeles Clippers put up a brave fight against the Denver Nuggets. However, they stumbled at the final hurdle despite having a healthy roster. Considering that the franchise added Beal and a couple of others, fans are not sure if they move the needle.
Bradley Beal might slot alongside Kawhi Leonard and James Harden
One of the prickly parts of last season was when Bradley Beal was benched to mitigate the roster conflicts faced by the Phoenix Suns. That problem might not surface with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Unlike the Suns, the Clippers do not have 3 players with similar skill sets. Kawhi Leonard is the de facto 3 and does not move around like Beal. The latter similarly does not have overlapping skills with James Harden.
Therefore, it is possible that the three can co-exist and play well off each other. Harden is the primary facilitator, and Leonard is the scoring and defensive savant who has to be given his space.
Beal might need to learn how to play off the ball, which means he will need to be a spot-up scorer, much like Klay Thompson is. Fans might be laughing at the 6′ 4″ guard’s title ambitions, but this team, if healthy, can go on to embarrass others on their journey.
