Just two weeks into the NFL season, New York Jets rookie Braelon Allen has proven himself to be special. The rookie running back etched his name in the record books after he scored a touchdown in the team’s 24-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans. Allen is the youngest player in the Super Bowl era to score a touchdown.
His performance against the Titans convinced fans that he is the steal of this year’s draft. A fan posed an interesting question via X, “How tf did Braelon Allen drop to the fourth round?” in the NFL draft. While there is no definitive answer to that question, Allen clapped back with an interesting response of his own.
Everyone wanted to see me run in my underwear to decide if I was a good football player.Braelon Allen posted an interesting response via X
He is referring to the NFL Combine wherein players show off their talent and skills to scouts wearing shorts.

Braelon Allen entered the 2024 NFL Draft as a top running back prospect
He had a phenomenal showing during his time in Wisconsin. In the three years he spent there, Allen had 597 carries for 3,494 yards and 35 touchdowns. It was surprising to see him drop to the fourth round. The New York Jets lucked out with him.

The team has a capable RB in Breece Hall but with the addition of Braelon Allen, the team’s offense just got more dangerous. He started in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers but was unable to contribute much to the offense. Unsurprisingly, the Jets lost their season debut. In Week 2, he stepped up to the plate.
His Week 3 performance in the Jets’ 24-3 victory over the Patriots was decent. Allen had 55 yards on 11 carries. He is a valuable asset to the team’s offense and his chemistry with Breece Hall has already proven to be good. It comes as no surprise that head coach Robert Saleh described him as a “bulldozer.” The Jets have not had two running backs who have had receiving touchdowns in the same game since 1994, a feat which Hall and Allen achieved in Week 2.
