Brandi Rhodes reacts to Cody Rhodes saving Shawn Michaels from Kevin Owens (via WWE)
Despite not being on screen in WWE anymore, Brandi Rhodes still keeps up with the product and offers her thoughts on the events of the show. She mostly comments on storylines related to her husband, Cody Rhodes. The 41-year-old once again had something to say following Saturday Night’s Main Event, which featured the American Nightmare and Kevin Owens signing the contract for their match at the Royal Rumble.
Brandi Rhodes expressed her excitement on X about seeing her husband team up with Shawn Michaels. The Hall of Famer was put in charge of watching over the segment in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas. He had to ensure that both superstars signed the contract. However, as is the case with all such segments, things were bound to go off the rails.
The segment began with a tense staredown as Michaels introduced the two superstars. He asked them to sign the contract, which Cody Rhodes did promptly. However, Owens got on the microphone and mentioned how he felt betrayed by his former friend. HBK called him jealous, which irritated KO, and he finally signed the contract.

A referee came to take the belts from the competitors, and they were raised above the ring. Shawn Michaels went for a handshake, but the Anti-Christ of Pro Wrestling refused. He then shook hands with Rhodes, and the Canadian used this opportunity to take a cheap shot at his competitor. He kicked Mr. WrestleMania in the stomach and went for a piledriver.
However, the American Nightmare broke things up right on time with a superkick. Of course, the Showstopper is not one to let things go so easily. Thus, he tuned up the band himself with a Sweet Chin Music onto Owens.
Layla believes Kevin Owens will dethrone Cody Rhodes at the Royal Rumble
This ladder match against Kevin Owens is surely looking to be the toughest title defense Cody Rhodes has had in his title reign so far. The wrestling world is buzzing with their predictions, and Layla seems to be on the side of the Prizefighter, as evidenced by her recent appearance on Chairshot Sports.
Layla said that Rhodes does not need a title reign this long. He has validated himself in the promotion. Furthermore, he is going to be the face of the company for several years to come. Thus, not only did she want Owens to win at Royal Rumble, but believed that he was going to do so.
[Rhodes is] gonna be a huge star in WWE for years to come and he’s made a legacy for his family now going forward. So, I would like to see Kevin Owens win.

These two superstars have undoubtedly had an incredible feud over the past few months with great matches at Bash in Berlin and Saturday Night’s Main Event. This feud has also given Owens a chance to show off his true character work and come off as a menace. He even beat up Rey Mysterio mercilessly right in front of his daughter.
