It has been a difficult 2025-26 campaign for Brandin Podziemski and the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors guard has played in every single game for the Dubs this season and is heavily favored by head coach Steve Kerr.

Podziemski had his career-best scoring night in the Warriors’ penultimate game of the season. He scored 30 points, which was also his first-ever 30-point game in the NBA. However, despite having a career-high night, the Warriors came up short as they suffered a 124-118 loss to the Sacramento Kings at the Golden 1 Center on Friday night.

Following the disappointing loss, Podziemski spoke about his 30-point game and acknowledged a popular X account.

(My teammates) have been giving me a hard time about it the whole year. The account can be activated now.

The account the Warriors star referred to is named Podziemski’s Gravity. It is a fan-made account of the young American. Back in November 2024, the account posted that there would be no tweets till the guard scored 30 points in a game.

Brandin Podziemski is currently in his third season in the NBA. He was drafted by the Warriors as the 19th pick in the 2023 NBA draft. Regarded for his impressive rebounding ability as a guard, Podz was named in the All-Rookie First Team.

The 23-year-old was expected to take a significant leap this year. While he is averaging some career-highs this season, the Warriors would have expected to see more from a player who intends to lead the Warriors in the future. He is averaging a career-high 13.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 81 appearances.

It was a huge game for Podziemski on a night when Stephen Curry never really got it going. The Warriors will hope to see more from Podziemski as they look to make it to the playoffs through the play-in tournament.

The shoutout from Podz for the popular X account generated several reactions across social media.

While fans were disappointed with the loss despite Podziemski’s 30-point night, many believe this could serve as a confidence booster for the important games coming up.

Stephen Curry on Brandin Podziemski’s 30-point game

Brandin Podziemski was the only player from the Warriors to cross the 20-point mark on Friday. Stephen Curry was playing in just his third game after his two-month injury layoff. The four-time champion could score just 11 points in 27 minutes.

After the game, Curry spoke to the media about Podziemski’s 30-point game against the Kings.

I told him we were gonna treat him like Devin Booker when he scored 70 in Boston and they lost… I know he’s been searching for it. Everybody knew it too.

The Warriors are scheduled to take on the Los Angeles Clippers in the final game of the season and may face them again in their first match of the play-in tournament. Since Jimmy Butler‘s season-ending injury, the Warriors have had no chance of making any noise in the Western Conference. In his absence, the Dubs will hope Podz can step up as the team’s secondary scorer after Curry.
