With every passing day, the San Francisco 49ers are attracting news for all the wrong reasons. The constant criticism of Brock Purdy is definitely high among the most talked about topics in the NFL. However, a close second is the situation developing around his teammate, Brandon Aiyuk. His trade request sent shockwaves through the league, bringing out some comments from fellow 49er Jauan Jennings.

As soon as he wrote those words from his social media account, it blew up the internet. Many suddenly had questions regarding the chemistry within a team that wanted to take another shot at the Super Bowl. But Jauan Jennings posted another message to clear the air.

Neva would I diss my brudda Brandon Aiyuk. Broskii a made man.

Suggesting that Jennings did not take shots at his teammate with his previous comment. Rather, it was just a random message.

Calling him a brother sounds more akin to how the San Francisco 49ers wide receiver room has been over the past season. Celebrating each other’s high moments during games even if one is outdoing the other. So, it could be that all is good at the 49ers camp. Or it could be a smokescreen for how it actually is.

Whatever the scenario, the San Francisco 49ers need to act on this situation soon. Either this will explode and Brandon Aiyuk will land on another franchise via trade. Or this will implode, causing further friction than anything that has built up so far.

James Jones suggests Brandon Aiyuk to get his paycheck

In the midst of all this come conflicting suggestions and advice, some say that he should think about the team. Whereas others, like Super Bowl champion James Jones, want him to get his bag.

Brandon Aiyuk should focus on what is best for him and his family

This is his first big payday. This is my time to go get my money and make sure my family is set up for the rest of their lives. My agent always told me this. I hope you do win a Super Bowl, I hope you do have all-pros, I hope you do get a gold jacket, but you lose if you have a gold jacket and you're broke.
James Jones said via SPEAK

Jones essentially advised Brandon Aiyuk to focus on his contract over everything else, as it will have a lasting impact on his family.

Jones mentioned that a football player never knows how their next season will be. That is, if they can continue playing, or a nasty injury forces them to retire. In that case, had they succumbed to pressure and taken a pay cut, they would have regretted it down the line.

It seems so far Brandon Aiyuk is following what James Jones has preached. He wants to get the best contract he can. Even if it means leaving the team that developed him to reach those levels. Only the coming days will reveal how it all turns out.
