Since February Brandon Aiyuk has been seeking an extension leading to him missing the mandatory minicamp and also becoming the subject of a fine, yet there is no update from the San Francisco 49ers. And after months of struggle, the wide receiver finally reached the stage of realization that it wasn’t going to happen.

In a recent TikTok video, the 49ers star wideout provided the ultimate update on his contract negotiation with the franchise and gave a shocking revelation on that matter, while talking to the Washington Commanders’ rookie Jayden Daniels. The wideout shared the TikTok with the caption, “Im laughing but im crying fr.”

Aiyuk had reportedly sought a number close to the highest-paid Justin Jefferson’s, but the franchise offered him around $26 million– $2 million down from Amon-Ra St. Brown’s $28 million per year.

The wide receiver didn’t specifically mention whether the 49ers don’t want him for this season or meant for next season as both the parties involved in the negotiation are not able to find a common ground.

Brandon Aiyuk’s future with 49ers remains uncertain

Earlier this weekend, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that the ongoing contract negotiation between Aiyuk and the 49ers has stalled for some time, with no specified reason. Aiyuk hadn’t been satisfied with the offers provided by the franchise and seeking one of the highest-paid deals, especially since Jefferson’s deal.

For missing the mandatory minicamp, Aiyuk has been subjected to a $101,000 fine. Although it’s upon the franchise’s discretion to impose it. Meanwhile, the Niners’ wideout No. 1 revealed at the minicamp that he has been in constant contact with Aiyuk and has been helping him navigate the contract situation.

Deebo Samuel described Aiyuk’s contract situation as a “waiting game,” claiming he would receive the deal he deserves at the right time. That’s why he has advised Aiyuk to be patient while dealing with the negotiations.
